I trained at the London College of Furniture, Metropolitan University from 2005 to 2007 (after a career in education). I've worked with wood for the last 19 years, firstly making a range of bespoke furniture, for 10 years at a workshop near Tower Bridge, South London. I work as a gardener for part of the year (see paulshrubshallgardener.weebly.com).
Now turning away slightly from modern workshops and machines, wanting to work more organically, and inspired and helped by other local woodworkers, I co-founded a Green Woodworking Group at Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses in 2017. I now make chairs, spoons, and sculptures in a variety of places, for a while at the Remakery in South London, and at the moment at home and on my allotment. I'm presently trying my hand at bowl turning.
